James Rhodes, 24, was killed last Friday. A motive was not immediately released.
CAMDEN -- Five days after an Essex County man was fatally shot in Camden, authorities announced his alleged killer has been caught and charged, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Lehjye Waring, 24, of Camden, is facing a first-degree murder charge following the shooting death of 24-year-old James Rhodes, an East Orange resident who was killed late Friday.
According to the prosecutor's office, Waring fatally shot Rhodes around 9:20 p.m. Camden County police officers responded to the 2800 block of North Constitution Road after a ShotSpotter activation.

Rhodes was found by police lying in an alleyway and, after being transported to Cooper University Hospital, was pronounced dead approximately 20 minutes later.
Authorities on Tuesday released surveillance video of Rhodes and a person of interest sought for questioning, although the prosecutor's office didn't immediately say Wednesday if the person seen on video was Waring.
Camden City has seen 21 homicides since the beginning of the year, with four people -- Rhodes being the first -- shot in a four-day span from last Friday to this Monday.
Waring, who presently sits behind bars at the Camden County Correctional Facility, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. at the Camden County Hall of Justice.
