Victim identified only as a male
ORANGE -- One person was killed and another injured in a shooting late Tuesday night near City Hall and the city's business district, according to authorities.
Both victims were identified as males, Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter said Wednesday morning. The prosecutor's office was set to release further details later in the day.
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. near Main and North Day streets.

The homicide was the second deadly multiple shooting in the city of 2.2 square miles within less than a week. Last Wednesday, 39-year-old Ahmad Cauthen was killed and two other men were wounded in a shooting on Central Avenue, near Carteret Place.
An Orange City spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
