NEWARK -- A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested on gun charges Sunday after he fired a weapon on a city street, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.
Kejarris Griffin did not strike anyone but may have been shooting at a fleeing vehicle around 2 a.m. on the 500 block of S. 18th Street, police said. Officers responded to the area after hearing gunfire, when they also found a number of juveniles out after curfew. The youths' parents were called to pick them up.
Griffin has been charged with firing the gun, possession of a gun and possession for an unlawful purpose. He was being held on $125,000 bail.
